Methodist Primary School Leadership and Teambuilding Day Camp

Leadership and teambuilding day camp is an annual programme whereby all the prefects, monitors and also librarians of Methodist Primary School will come together to equip themselves with leadership skills and to improve themselves in playing their roles and responsibilities. Pathways Academy is honored to be chosen by Methodist Primary school again to train up their young leaders.

The programme started with a simple opening ceremony with headmistress Ms Susie Khor Siew Lee delivered a short speech to her young leaders. Young leaders are those from as young as standard two to standard six. Ms Susie implored about the objectives of this day camp and the importance of being effective in their roles.

After the opening ceremony, the first session of the day was ‘creative leadership’ by Mr Ravi. Mr Ravi has been in the entertaining (Clowning and Puppeting) industry for the past 20 years and this is what he did best, being creative in presenting leadership qualities and while have fun.

The second session of the was ‘learning leadership thro A,B,C,D,E’ presented by our experienced speaker Mr Aaron Tan; He has been giving talks to many students/young leaders about genre of leadership in many schools and leadership camps by using just A,B,C,D,E. So, why is it so important to learn about these five alphabets in order to become a good leader? Find out more if you have a chance to attend his leadership talk.

At 10am, the young leaders took a short break before the programme resumed, you will never be a leader if you are alone, so you need a team of people who will listen to you and follow you to achieve the goals/objectives that set by you. the next programme is called ‘Team Dynamic’ organized by Mr Jasper Low whereby young leaders are divided into 8 teams and various assignments/team games are given to the teams to compete with one another as they learned about effective team work and promote/cultivate Espirit-de-corps among team members.

Last session of the day was ‘Being Effective as Leaders’. In this session, prefects, monitors, librarians are separated into their own function group where they have been taught on the roles and responsibilities of being a prefect, monitor and librarian and how they can be fruitful and being exemplary to others, the session officially ended with a thanksgiving lunch hosted by the school.
