Pathways 10th Anniversary Camp

On the 5th December, Pathways organized an annual camp to Benum Hills in conjunction with Pathways 10th Anniversary celebration. Everyone was looking forward to the camp as the camp’s registration list kept growing.

On the first day, everyone gathered at pathways at around 8.30am. We departed to Raub at 9.15am. We stop by at Raub at 12.30pm and walk around the town before proceeding to Benum Hills Resort. After we had reached the resort, everyone checked into their room and looked forward to lunch. The first day’s main activities are flying fox, high rope course and also night exploration. The first day ended with everyone feeling exhausted and tired after all the activities and everyone had a good night sleep.

The second day started with breakfast at 8.30am, all the participants took heavy breakfast to ensure that they will have enough energy for the activities that awaits them that day. Activities like Tele-match, obstacle course, and the highlight of our camp ‘Pathways Beauty Pageant night’. During the pageant night, each group’s representatives have to perform different kind of performances and each of them is required to show off their talent. Participants had a lot of fun that night; all the team members were laughing and cheering for their team representatives as they perform their individual, unique and spontaneous dance steps. The second day ended with many people couldn’t sleep because it is the last night of the camp, so everyone stayed up until very late and spent more time with each other because Pathways camp is only organized once a year.

     

The last day of the camp, everyone was on time for breakfast. After breakfast, everyone was heading to the multi-functional hall for the prize giving ceremony. There were prizes for the best team and also prizes for beauty pageant king which won by Chye Kok Keong, who sang his way up to achieve the crown. After the prize giving ceremony, everyone went back to their dorm to pack and in preparation to leave the resort. Many participants were hesitant to leave the resort because they had so much fun together and there were also many vivid memories which will remain as a sweet experience. While on the way back to KL, we stopped by at Raub once again to have a walk and have lunch for 45 minutes. After that we headed back to KL.

In conclusion this camp is successful because many students were able to realize their talents and some of them had matured mentally after the camp to become a better person. We met many new friends in this camp and now everyone is eagerly looking forward for the next camp. And lastly, one must not forget the Pathways Academy motto, “transforming people, and inspiring lives!”
