Industrial Experience
He began his career in a Malaysia-based Singaporean conglomerate, Ben Trading (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (a subsidiary of QAF Ltd.), sister company of Gardenia Bakeries (M) Sdn. Bhd. as an Accounts Officer and Company Secretarial Assistant for 2 years. He served as Group Accountant with the Beauty Harvest Group of Companies before setting his career path and fulfilling his aspiration of entrepreneurialship in training and education. He founded Pathways training and education, a center for people development and improved education on 15 March 1998. He then formed an experiential learning (adventure based) company called Pathways Academy on 3 March 2003. He is also Education Consultant with Biz-Ed Resources Sdn. Bhd. and the Lecturer for its Akamai University, USA and Commonwealth Open University, Ireland MBA programmes. Regularly, he will be invited to speak and share his expertise in leadership and teambuilding for schools and other organizations.
Youth Training Experience
He possessed with him 22 years of youth training and development experience in an international youth movement called The Boys’ Brigade. He joined the unique uniformed organization in year 1986 and at present, he is the Captain of the 3rd Kuala Lumpur Company, YMCA, Kuala Lumpur since year 1997. He was the former Executive Members of the Battalion (as Treasurer), District (as Vice President) and National Council (as Executive Committee) of The Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia. He has also been invited by The Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia to conduct leadership-training courses from year to year, both locally and internationally (Medan & Bangkok). He has also led about many triumphs of either state or national level competitions (Brass Band, Singing & Drill) for his 3rd KL Brigade Company under his leadership. Due to his intense involvement and invaluable resources, he was elected to serve in Board of Directors of the YMCA, KL in year 2007 and responsible for youth development of this international organization.
Outstanding Achievements
He was one of the 10 students in his secondary school, selected by the counseling teacher to receive the Basic Counseling Training in year 1989 conducted by the Department of Education, Wilayah Persekutuan. In year 1992, he was once again selected by the Government to represent Malaysia for an international program called the Ship for South East Asia Youth Program sponsored fully by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia with Prime Minister Office of Japan. He was playing the role as a young ambassador to courtesy visit 6 Southeast Asian countries and Japan for 2 months.
Education Background
He received his tertiary education from The University of Newcastle, Australia and obtained his Master in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations in year 2001. Besides, he has also acquired Higher Diploma in Cost Accounting from The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the United Kingdom and Advanced Diploma of Business Management from The University of Lincolnshire and Humberside, The United Kingdom. He is now planning to pursue his doctoral degree from a recognized institution to realize his life aspiration. |
